Linda Allen
Jeweler and Designer
Over a decade ago, Linda discovered the intimate nature of designing and making jewelry from the earth’s bounty. Her pieces are direct extensions of her lifelong dedication to the detail and craftsmanship of the historical decorative arts. Further, her eye has been honed through her prior careers in the interior and textile design industries.
Initially, she was heavily influenced by the unerring designs of the ancient Greeks and Romans. In more recent years, she has travelled down a path of exploration which has broadened her knowledge and skills to incorporate an abundance of multicultural aesthetics. In her work, she interweaves images from numerous varied and distinct cultures.
Each piece is a direct reflection of her worldwide travel and education. Each design detail reflects a different discovery; the pebble walkways of a Japanese tea house, the highly decorative tiles of Lisbon or the intricately vaulted dome of the great Hagia Sophia in Istanbul. The color of each stone tells of a new inspiration: the red of a Maasai robe or the kaleidoscope of the stained glass windows of Sainte Chappelle in Paris. Linda’s jewelry is primarily realized in 22 or 18 karat gold and stones vetted by certified GIA dealers.
While Linda continues to explore various avenues of traditional and contemporary design, she welcomes designing for individual clients using their existing pieces and stones in new and fresh ways. The challenge of intertwining a client’s personal style and interest with hers adds a rich and rewarding dimension to the artistic process and the resulting creation.
